Seed Laser Pro’s 1.0 µm High-Power Single-Frequency Laser uses a proprietary ultra-narrow linewidth seed combined with a multi-stage MOPA to reach 20 to 500W output while holding linewidth between 0.4 and 20 kHz. Power stability stays at RMS below 0.2%. Output fiber options include 12/125, 30/250, bare fiber, QBH, and QCS collimator. Linear polarization and non-polarized output both available.

Output Configuration Options

Three output configurations cover different integration requirements:

Bare fiber suits laboratory setups and custom integration where the downstream system defines the connector.

QBH armored connector is the standard for high-power outdoor and industrial deployments. The armored cable provides mechanical protection at watt-level power densities.

QCS collimator delivers a collimated free-space beam from the fiber output, suited for setups requiring free-space beam shaping or telescope coupling after the laser.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does linewidth range from 0.4 to 20 kHz across the power range?

At lower output power, the system operates closer to the seed laser’s native linewidth of 0.4 kHz. At higher power, linewidth management techniques that raise the SBS threshold introduce controlled spectral broadening, increasing linewidth toward 20 kHz at maximum power. The trade-off between linewidth and output power is a fundamental characteristic of high-power single-frequency fiber laser design. For applications requiring the narrowest linewidth, operating at reduced output power achieves sub-kHz performance.

What is QBH and when should I specify it?

QBH is a standardized high-power fiber connector designed for kilowatt-class laser delivery. It uses a large beam diameter at the connector interface to reduce power density, preventing connector damage at high power. For field-deployed and industrial systems where the output fiber is regularly connected and disconnected, QBH provides the mechanical robustness and thermal handling that standard FC connectors cannot offer at these power levels.

What is the operating temperature range and why is it narrow?

Operating temperature is 22 to 25°C. At 100 to 500W output power, thermal management of the amplifier chain is critical. The system is designed to operate with active cooling within this range. Operating outside the specified temperature range risks thermal damage to amplifier components or degradation of output beam quality. Is non-polarized output available?
